On May 9th, 2023, Timeline hosted a workshop on Creating Family-Friendly Workplaces in Shanghai, which was the third open workshop on this topic of the company this year. We would like to thank international brands, supply chain companies, and social organizations for their support!
In recent years, Timeline has made consistent efforts towards creating family-friendly workplaces. The positive impact of such workplaces on workers, companies, and society has been evident through industry research and Timeline’s relevant project experience. Family-friendly workplaces have contributed to work-family balance for workers, job satisfaction, employee loyalty and belongingness, company attractiveness and competitiveness, and business productivity and profitability. In today's uncertain environment, where there is a shortage of talent and increased pressure on individuals, creating family-friendly workplaces is more important than ever before.
Before attending the workshop, many companies found it challenging to implement the concept of family-friendly workplaces within their enterprise. However, after attending the workshop, they gained a better understanding of relevant connotation, methodology, and measures, and increased their confidence in creating family-friendly workplaces. The workshop enabled them to establish a framework of thinking, realize the need to focus on a broader range of groups, and understand that it is entirely feasible to carry out practical work within the enterprise.
Since policies and guidelines related to family-friendly workplaces have only begun to be introduced in recent years, Timeline wants to share some practical resource packs on this topic to help businesses implement these policies more smoothly. The resource pack includes some of the relevant national policies/laws/guidelines on family-friendly workplaces, domestic support policies for childcare and flexible employment, as well as international conventions/advocacies and guidance, which are listed as below:
